Events

We host a variety of events throughout the year. We usually run targeted drives for these causes starting (in some cases, 60 days in advance). Seasonal events include:

  • Volunteer Appreciation Game Night (March)

  • Back to School Block Party (late July/early August)

  • Fall Fundraiser - annual appeal to help with 20% of pantry operational costs (funds used towards extra produce purchases and one multilingual registration clerk) - donate here

  • Boo Bash for Halloween (Sat, Oct 12, 2024)

  • Thanksgiving Meal and outerwear Distribution (Sat, Nov 23, 2024)

  • Christmas Meal and winter boot Distribution (Sat, Dec 14, 2024)

  • Holiday Toy Distribution (Sun, Dec 15, 2024)

The Mercadito Gratis is accepting clothing donations the 1st-15th of every month! We often get many comments, dms, and questions about where and how you can donate and while we appreciate everyone’s thoughtfulness we are almost always at full capacity! So we ask everyone to check our website for the clothing items we currently DO need so we can serve our clients to the best of our ability. We also ask that when sorting through your donations you look at the quality of item. Second-hand and gently worn things are fine but we don’t want to distribute anything with holes or stains!
